Sennarido Kimono Salon

Exclusive Tailor-Made Pieces,
Turns Your Kimono Vision Into Reality

Sennarido Kimono Salon has established a unique identity that goes beyond the boundaries of a kimono boutique, gallery, or studio. Mr. Hideki Inoue, the creative lead, brings his background in the fashion industry to reinterpret kimono as wearable fashion—not just traditional attire. The name “Kimono Salon” itself reflects this vision: kimono should be worn, enjoyed, and personalized. What sets Sennarido apart is its strength in custom-made orders (known as “betsuchomono”). For those who seek more than what mass-produced items can offer, this is a trusted destination where passion and precision come together. Many loyal clients return again and again, drawn by the thoughtful consultation and personalized experience. The salon operates by appointment only, offering a private, relaxed environment where each customer’s preferences are carefully heard. Mr. Inoue collaborates with a network of over 100 artisans, weaving houses, and distributors, matching each client’s vision with the right creator. Whether you’re seeking a one-of-a-kind obi or a custom-colored coat, your ideas are brought to life with artistry and sensitivity. In addition to original bespoke pieces, the salon offers a carefully curated selection of vintage kimono and accessories, chosen with Mr. Inoue’s refined eye for quality and harmony with modern tastes. These are available through the salon’s online gallery.

Original Nagoya Obi by Sennarido, including textured silk designs by Rakufurin and Shōzan, created with a meticulous sense of color harmony.

“Oboro Ichimatsu” Three-Season Coat, designed in collaboration with Nishijin artisan Ms. Satoko Katsuyama. Its checkerboard weave features rounded squares with a soft, floating appearance.

“Taishikandō” Fukuro Obi in custom ink-black, made in collaboration with the esteemed Saito Orimono weaving house. Its quiet power and antique-like elegance make it truly exceptional.

Embroidered Haori, developed in partnership with a Kyoto-based dyeing atelier. The piece features elegant floral arabesque embroidery on a glossy, refined chirimen.

Artisan Accessories, including obidome and jewelry crafted by artists working in metal, glass, and ceramics.

Personalized Hospitality, as the salon’s display and atmosphere are tailored for each guest, reflecting their individual taste and preferences.

Making Kimono Approachable and Enjoyable for Everyone”

“Unlike Western fashion, kimono offers extraordinary depth—through its fabric, patterns, and color choices. While it is a physical object, a kimono also carries the memory of how you felt when you commissioned or wore it. That’s why I hope each person will find something that reflects their personality and hold onto it with lasting affection. I would be honored to help make that possible.”
— Hideki Inoue, Creative Director
