A refined Kyoto shop for vintage and
antique kimono with timeless individuality
Located in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district near Yasaka Shrine and Chion-in Temple, Yaya is a shop specializing in antique and vintage kimono. With its traditional exterior and stylish selection of Tsumugi, Komon, and Houmongi, each piece reflects the refined taste and individuality of the owner. Around 100 items are always displayed in the shop and available online. A highlight is the impressive collection of antique kimono with distinctive colors and patterns rarely seen today. These are carefully arranged by color, creating a captivating display. Every item undergoes meticulous inspection by skilled wasai-shi (kimono tailors), ensuring that even delicate stitching and minor flaws are restored, maintaining the highest quality.

A rich selection of antique Haori, some tailored to fit modern body types.

Tasteful antique accessories such as obidome and hairpins, each with the charm of art pieces.

Vintage kimono and obi feature carefully crafted designs and details, appealing to modern sensibilities.

Some antique and vintage obi have been re-tailored, giving them the feel of brand-new pieces.
